Portugal Golden Visa Program 

In October 2012, the Portuguese authorities launched the Golden Visa Program, which is a fast track for foreign non-European Union investors to obtain a full residence permit in Portugal (Golden Visa). In this program, the investor can simply make one of the 2 investment options in order to qualify for a residence permit in Portugal. This permit allows the investor to enter and live in Portugal travel freely within European countries (Schengen countries) and obtain European citizenship after 6 years. In order to attract foreign investment to Portugal, the Golden Visa program is very simple and flexible, with easy and clear legal requirements and lowering the residency requirements to the minimum. Thus, the Golden Visa is clearly one of the most attractive residency programs for investors in the world. 

Conditions
  • The applicant must have a valid passport and legal residency in any country. 

  • The applicant must not be a citizen of the European Union. 

  • The applicant must be at least 25 years old (there is no maximum age limit). 

  • No high income, academic degrees, or language proficiency is required. 

  • The applicant should not have any criminal records and pass a security check. 

  • Choose one of these options:

           - Either buys a residential or commercial property of at least €280,000, €350,000, or €500,000 (depending on property age and location).

    ​        - Or deposits a minimum of €1,000,000 in a Portuguese bank. 

  • Whatever the type of investment, it must remain for at least 5 years. 

  • The application includes wife and children under the age of 18 (if a child is over the age of 18, he/she must be a student, unmarried, and not enrolled in any job).
