Canada Permanent Residence by Investment - Startup Program (SUV)

This Canadian Investment Program (SUV) is a Canadian permanent residence program administered by the Federal Government of Canada. It targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build innovative and globally-competitive businesses in Canada, which can create jobs for Canadians. It is available in all provinces except Quebec.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:  

• Incorporate a company and intend to develop a business concept or idea.  

• Have at least CAD$ 500,000 in Net Worth.  

• Be minimum age 21 with no maximum age.  

• Have business ownership or management experience.  

• Be educated.  

• Have basic proficiency in English or French.

  • Freedom of movement and living anywhere in Canada. 

  • The program leads to a PR (Permanent Residence) and not a Work Permit like in other programs.  

  • Fast processing time. 

  • No interview is required in Canada nor is an exploratory visit. Other provincial programs require an applicant to make an exploratory visit to Canada prior to the submission of an application and another interview after the submission. 

  • Apply for Citizenship and passport after 3 years of residency. 

Toronto

Provincial Nominee Program (PEIPNP) - Entrepreneur 

In September 2018, Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEIPNP) Entrepreneur Category migrated to a Work Permit Stream, whereby applicants will come to the Province and run a business for 1 year before being nominated and later receiving permanent residency (PR).

Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Intend to settle in PEI and manage or own a business. 

  • Make a minimum investment of CDN $150,000 in the business. 

  • Have a minimum of CDN $600,000 in Net Worth. 

  • Be between 21 and 59 years of age. 

  • Have completed at least 12 years of school (completed secondary school). 

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of business experience 

  • Have basic proficiency in English or French.
